Delhi government directed a pvt. school to return INR 2 crore collected by it as extra fee



On Thursday, Delhi government had ordered Apeejay school, to return the extra fee that it had collected from the students during the financial year 2018-19. The government also rejected the proposal of the school to hike fee citing that there are multiple irregularities in the proposal presented by the school. Manish Sisodia, Delhi Education Minister, told media that the government audited the school’s finances after it received multiple complaints from the parents of the students regarding the fee hike. He said that school had no justified reasons to increase the fee of the students. The principal of the school said that she cannot comment on the allegations made by the government as she has not received the copy of the order. According to the government, the school had a net surplus of INT 30.85 crore and it was arrived by collecting the funds form the parents under several heads. This also include the alleged expenditure of the INR 10 crores which school used to purchase the commercial units in the name of the management society. According to the High Court’s order any capital expenditure cannot be the part of the school’s fee structure.

National Testing Agency is expected to release the admit cards for the JNUEE and CEEB exams for the year 2019 on May 14, 2019. JNUEE is an entrance test for the Master’s and M.Phil programs offered by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and CEEB is conducted as an entrance test for M.Sc. programs offered by the JNU. NTA has been given the duty to conduct the first computer-based JNUEE and CEEB exams. The exams have been scheduled from May 27 to May 30, 2019. Candidates will be selected for the program on the basis of their performance in CBT and viva-voce. In order to download the admit card for the exam, students would require their application number and password. Once the admit cards are released, candidates will be able to download the same by using their login credentials.

The admit cards for the CLAT exam for the year 2019 are expected to be released by the Consortium of National Law University on May 13. Candidates who have registered for the exam will be able to download the admit cards from the official website -- clat.ac.in. The exam is conducted as an entrance test for admissions to the law institutes of the nation including the National Law Universities (NLUs). The exam is scheduled for May 26, 2019 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Earlier, the exam was scheduled for May 12, 2019 but was postponed due to Lok Sabha elections. The admissions for the next batch of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been announced by the Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA). Candidates who are interested in applying for the coaching can apply for the same by visiting the official website at jmicoe.in until June 25, 2019. Since its inception, RCA has been providing free coaching to the UPSC aspirants with great results every year. Last year’s third rank holder, Junaid Ahmad, was a student of RCA. Apart from Ahmad, 245 other candidates from the institute were selected for other central and provincial services. The entrance test for the RCA will happen at 12 centers namely Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai. The exam will consist of two parts -- general students, which will be similar in nature and format to the UPSC exam and an essay writing which will be conducted in any one of the three languages -- English, Hindi or Urdu. The exam is scheduled for July 7, 2019 between 10 am and 1 pm an there is one-third negative marking for every wrong answer. RCA provides free coaching and hostel facility to the 200 students every year. Now this facility has been extended to SC, ST and women candidates as well.

JKBOSE has declared the result for the Jammu class 12th bi-annual exams. Earlier, the result was to be announced at 6 pm but the link for the same is now available on the official website of the JKBOSE. More than 35,000 students had appeared for the exam and were awaiting their results. Students can visit the official website to check the results or they can use the SMS facility by typing a message -- jkbose12 <space> roll number and send it to 5686850. The official answer key for the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) for the year 2019 has been released by the Jawaharlal National Technical University (JNTU), Hyderabad on its official website -- eamcet.tsche.ac.in. With the release of the official answer key, the university has opened the window to raise the objections against the released answer key. Candidates have until May 13, 2019 to raise the objection. The exam was conducted in two shifts -- in the morning shift the exam was held from 10 am to 1 pm and in the evening shift the exam was held from 3 pm to 6 pm.
