CAT 2018 results announced

CAT 2018 results have been released on the official website of the IIM-Calcutta. Earlier, in an official notification IIM-C had notified that the CAT 2018 result will be released on the official website on January 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Candidates who had appeared for the exam can check their results by visiting the official website of IIM-C. A copy of CAT 2018 scorecard will be required while submitting MBA application to the institutes which accept the CAT score. CAT scores are primarily used by the IIMs to shortlist the candidates for further rounds of selection. CAT scorecard contains scaled, total and percentile score of the candidates in each section and institutes use percentile score to shortlist the candidates. The list of candidates shortlisted for interview will be published by the IIMs on their respective websites. The official CAT website says, "Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. The criteria for shortlisting vary across IIMs." The shortlisting criteria cover many factors of which CAT percentile is a major part. In the past years, candidates with less than 90 percentile have received interview calls from the IIMs and have been successful in securing a seat in one of the IIMs.
