CBSE paper leak: Girl admits jotting down the questions

A team of Delhi Police questioned a class XII student on Tuesday who had allegedly written the questions of the class XII economics paper. Rakesh Kumar along with two other teachers of the private school in Una district dictated the questions to the girl.According to the police, after the girl jotted down the questions, Kumar clicked the photographs of the handwritten sheets and sent them to a relative in Chandigarh and from there it spread on 40 different groups on Whats App.According to the sources, the girl was questioned in front of her parents at her residence in the Una and she confirmed that Rakesh Kumar dictated the questions to her. “She told the police team that her teacher asked her to write down the questions, but she did not know he was dictating from the original question paper,” said a police officer. Rakesh was appointed as a center superintendent, in-charge of taking the examination papers to the exam center. This gave him access to the papers which he then leaked in order to help a girl who was weak in studies. The police took all the accused to the UNA where they reconstructed the scene of the crime and also questioned the employees of the bank where question papers were kept.“Police have collected the official document through which the principal had appointed Rakesh as the centre superintendent. The post of center superintendent is looked after by the principal, but if he nominates someone else, he has to intimate CBSE in writing,” said an officer.
