Maharashtra Government asked schools not to demand fees during lockdown



Maharashtra’s education department has asked schools not to ask for fees from the parents. The State Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad, said that the state government has issued an order on March 30 that schools and other education institutes should not demand fees from parents during the lockdown. The directive said that they can only collect the fee once the lockdown is lifted.In case, parents have any complaints regarding the matter they can reach their District Education Officer.“In the backdrop of Corona, the government decision has been issued regarding the demand of school fees from students and parents for schools in our state. If you have a complaint about this, please contact your District Education Officer (Primary / Secondary) office,” tweeted Varsha Gaikwad.The Maharashtra State Board of Education has cancelled the second semester examinations for class 9 and 11 and also decided to cancel the last exam for class 10. These exams could not be conducted due to coronavirus lockdown.
