WB government asked schools not to hike fee

On Wednesday, the WB government has asked all the private schools not to hike fee amid COVID-19 breakout as it has adversely affected the economy. In a video on Facebook, State education minister Partha Chatterjee asked that the government has received complaints from parents that some private schools are raising the fee turning blind eye to the present economic condition."The education department and I personally have received a number of complaints from guardians that a section of private schools has effected a steep hike in fees despite the hardship faced by the people in this unprecedented crisis. "I hereby urge these schools to roll back any such decision for the greater interest of the students," the minister said.Mr. Chatterjee also requested all the institutions to consider the case of parents who are completely unable to pay the school fees. The minister said that many private schools have raised the fee which is adding to the financial woes of the parents across all sections of the society.
